Luigi is a Senior Medical Affairs Executive with over 30 years of experience in Pharma and Biotech, having held leadership roles in both large corporations and smaller biotech.
He began his career in clinical practice before transitioning to industry, where he started at Gruppo Lepetit/MMD and was likely the first MSL appointed in Italy in 1993.
He later worked at SmithKline Beecham, GSK, Aventis, Ferring, and Gilead, leading medical and marketing teams across multiple therapeutic areas including CNS, diabetes, virology, and urology. Since 2012, he has focused on rare diseases, launching orphan drugs across Europe and MEA.
A passionate mentor, he has developed MSL training programs and initiatives to strengthen networks between centers of expertise and peripheral hospitals.
Luigi is a trained physician and diabetologist, holding a Medical Degree with a specialization in Internal Medicine from the University of Pisa, and has authored around 30 publications in diabetes and its complications.
